Parking
Such a great car park and it’s free?
That’s right, when visiting the castle you can count on free parking located in the immediate vicinity of the premises. Be sure to follow the road signs to make sure you get to the big car park in the correct way.
One more thing! The car park closes and is locked at 7:30 p.m. This is so you can plan your walk around the area and not become stuck behind the ramp.

Barrier-free access
.
Stairs, stairs and more stairs.
Without the aid of another person, it’s only possible to visit the castle grounds at Červený Kamen Castle. Exteriors with unpaved surfaces and especially the museum exposition or other exhibition spaces are only accessible for the disabled with an accompanying person to ensure mobility and movement on staircases and the interior thresholds. We recommend arranging such a tour in advance at lubos.harsany@snm.sk to avoid large groups during the season, which make it impossible for the lecturer to give all individuals equal attention. Contact us and we’ll arrange it!
In fact, the castle exposition with cellars contains 204 steps and 26 raised thresholds, i.e. at almost every passage between rooms.
However, you can reach the castle courtyard with no barriers at all. There are no barrier-free toilets in the courtyard. Those can be found by the entrance to the large car park.

Entry with pets
Can Buddy come with us?
Pets are only allowed if they are on a lead at Červený Kamen Castle. We believe your four-legged friend is well-behaved and listens to you, but we don’t quite trust the circumstances. There are lots of people in the area. particularly in the castle courtyard during the season and you just never know. Thank you.

Surroundings
The castle that is not just a castle.
The adjacent Small Carpathian mountains and the region’s cultural richness may suggest to the observant visitor how much their feet may hurt after a trip here. Or maybe they don’t have to. Just take your pick.

Hiking, cycling
Natural scenery as far as the eye can see.
Červený Kamen castle’s greatest asset is its location. It makes it an ideal location for a family trip, combining a historical experience with relaxation in nature. For example, you can take in a beautiful view from the Kukla hill (564 m above sea level) towering above the village of Píla, or the clearing below Veľký Vápenný (547 m above sea level) to the north-west of the castle. The Small Carpathian Mountains offer idyllic forests, easy climbs, but also long stretches of hiking. The local forests are ideal for running, cycling and family walks. Therefore, our castle can serve as a starting point for various other activities.
All hiking trails in the area that pass through our castle can be found at: mapy.dennikn.sk or we recommend mapy.cz on the shortened link with the location mapy.cz.

Tips for trips
Well, since we are here…
You can kill several “birds” with one stone with a trip in our direction in the form of historical monuments, museums, natural phenomena, galleries, as well as sports facilities and wine bars.
Near Červený Kameň, there is Smolenice castle to the east, below it, down in the village, there is a bee garden with an extensive range of honey products and an excellent café. It’s just a stone’s throw from there to Driny Cave. To the south you can visit the manor house in Budmerice, to the west Modra and Pezinok and their numerous museums and monuments. Just plan your route and get going.
More tips for trips and attractions in the area can also be found on the website slovenskycestovatel.sk
